In accordance with state law, all dogs and cats four (4) months of age and older are required to be vaccinated for rabies. Due to the high incidence of rabies in Archer County, the City of Holliday requires yearly vaccinations.
The City of Holliday hosts a yearly Dog Dip & Vaccination Day every April. Dogs are dipped for fleas at no charge and vaccinations are offered at a reduced cost by a local veterinarian on this day.
The owner of a dog that is more than six (6) months old shall obtain a license from the City at a fee of $3.00 per license. The owner must present the following:
- Current rabies vaccination certificate from a licensed veterinarian
- Name, address and phone number of the owner
- Description of the dog to include breed, sex, color and name
Licenses are renewed annually during the month of April.
Animals Running at Large
